Arthur Branch of Yonkers has pleaded guilty to a felony count of second-degree armed robbery dating back to an incident in 2016 at the Mount Vernon station, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. announced on Thursday.
At approximately 11 p.m. on Sept. 9, 2016, Branch pleaded guilty to approaching two women at the Mount Vernon East Metro-North station, wielding a box cutter and demanding their money and cell phones. Branch threatened to slash their faces if they did not comply and he forcibly took a smartphone from each of the victims and money from one of them before fleeing the scene.
Branch was arrested on Dec. 1, 2016, by MTA police investigators. He is due in court for sentencing on June 27, when he will face 25 years to life in prison.
